PUBLIC HEALTH RESEARCHER TAKES OUT HMRI TOP GONG

A pioneer of Public Health Research has been named the Hunter’s Top Researcher.
Professor John Wiggers was instrumental in the formation of the Hunter Medical Research Institute, a partnership between the University of Newcastle and Area Health.
Much of his work has centred around reducing chronic disease caused by smoking, poor nutrition, alcohol and lack of physical activity.
Professor Wiggers has secured millions of dollars in research grants for the area over his career.
