There are more calls for Newcastle Lord Mayor Jeff McCloy to stand aside, this time coming from Newcastle Labor councillors.
It follows the explosive claims of illegal political donations during the 20-11 state election campaign for the seats of Newcastle and Charlestown.
Councillor Jason Dunn says council’s reputation cannot afford to be further tarnished.
Labor councillors are also calling for the Electoral Funding Commission to investigate possible donations or any funding irregularities during the 20-12 local government campaign in Newcastle.
