FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE WARDELL BLAZE

Firefighters have been working around the clock in an attempt to contain and out-of-control bushfire, burning south-west of Wardell.
So far, the blaze has burnt out more than 1-hundred hectares, with crews working hard to create containment lines.
Thirty firefighters and ten trucks have been on scene since yesterday evening.
While there are rural properties nearby, authorities say there’s no immediate risk.
“Our crews will be making sure they make contact with those residents should there be any threat to property, however at this stage there is no property under threat at that fire”
The incident is being flagged as a timely reminder for residents to prepare their properties for bushfire season.
