Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson says he’s met with New South Wales Train Link CEO Rob Mason as part of a push for more train services in the electorate.
At the moment Tamworth has one service to and from Sydney each day, but they leave at times which make it hard to do a day trip.
“I’d like to see a service where we can go down in the morning and we can come back in the evening, you know, whether that’s to Newcastle or to Sydney that’s what we’ve got to work through, we want to upgrade our trains as well.”
The Namoi Joint Organisation has also raised the issue with the local MP.
