INQUEST INTO DEATH OF YOUNG GIRL WITH DISABILITIES SUSPENDED

Charges may be laid over the unexplained and tragic death of a severely disabled nine-year-old girl in the Hunter.
A Coronial Inquest being held in Newcastle was suspended today – the Deputy State Coroner explaining she’s satisfied an indictable offence has been committed by a known person and that there’s a reasonable prospect a jury would convict someone.
Isabella Leiper from Clarence Town died from internal injuries in 2011 – the inquest heard they were caused by a blunt force to the stomach.
The Director of Public Prosecutions will now review the case and make a determination regarding charges.
