COUPLE LUCKY TO BE ALIVE

It’s thought fatigue played a role in a crash on the Pacific Highway north of Coffs Harbour last night.
A husband and wife were travelling to Brisbane when their car left the road at Arrawarra around 7:30.
It became airborne and slammed into a tree.
A passing driver only became aware of the crash when he noticed smoke coming from an embankment.
The 54-year-old man had to be cut free and was rushed to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital with a serious foot injury and cuts to his face.
His wife was also taken away by ambulance with pain in her legs.
Police are investigating.
