TRAIN DERAILS NEAR NAMBUCCA HEADS

A freight train has derailed on the mid north coast, causing extensive damage to the line north of Nambucca Heads station.
Fortunately, no one was injured when four wagons came off the tracks just after 2pm yesterday.
The section of line is currently closed, and freight and passenger services between Brisbane and Sydney have been affected.
Initial inspections indicate there is significant damage to more than 2,000 sleepers and track infrastructure.
The Australian Rail Track Corporation expects the line will be reopened tomorrow night.
