Emile Heskey has agreed to sign on for another A-League season with the Newcastle Jets.
The 35-year-old has agreed in principle to continue playing with the side, with a formal announcement expected in the next few days.
“Everything is agreed and I will be coming back next season,” said Heskey on the Jet’s website.
He was one of the competition’s marquees players, alongside Alessandro Del Piero and Shinji Ono.
Del Piero and Ono have both signed on for another season in Australia.
Hunter Sports Group CEO Troy Palmer says signing Heskey was a huge coup for the club.
“To have someone of his standing in the game re-sign with the Jets gives everyone at the club confidence in the direction we are heading.
