URUNGA RAIDERS WIN HISTORIC STATE CUP FINAL

The Urunga Raiders are State Cup champions – winning a marathon penalty shoot-out in the grand final against Edgeworth FC in Coffs Harbour this afternoon.
It was the first time a northern New South Wales team had won a state cup final.
Jackson Lindsay scored for Urunga in the second minute and his young side led one-nil at half time.
The Eagles clawed their way back in the second half when Alex Palozzi scored a goal to take it to one-all at full time.
13 penalties were taken by both sides, with Urunga winning 9-8.
