Lake Macquarie Council is turning to technology to make sure residents are prepared for severe weather.
A new Early Warning Network app sends location-based notifications to residents.
The app is a step-up from the current SMS alerts available, and also features radar images, videos and incident reports.
It can be downloaded from the App Store for free – or residents can sign up via the council’s website.
