KNIGHTS OPTIMISTIC HOUSTON WILL RE-SIGN QUICKLY

The Newcastle Knights believe former forward Chris Houston will re-sign with the club by the end of the week.
Houston was cleared of all drugs charges on Friday and Knights CEO Steve Burraston immediately made a recommendation to the club’s board that he be reinstated.
The members of the board came to a consensus late on Friday night and this weekend, the club’s strategic development officer, Keith Onslow, has been negotiating with Chris Houston’s manager.
The 25 year old voluntarily terminated his own contract in March after the charges were brought against him.
