METGASCO LOOKS TO ROCK VALLEY

Lismore Council will review an application by gas miner Metgasco to perform seismic testing on a road reserve in Rock Valley tonight.
It’s the first application by the company since council passed a motion to take control of all coal seam gas considerations in the shire.
“”If we said no to Metgasco then we can be over ruled through the court system and they can have approval to go ahead.”
Mayor, Jenny Dowell has received over 30 emails from members of the community, opposing the application.
“People expressing their concerns about coal seam gas mining, about what that will do, the risk to water, the risk to cultural land and the risk to splitting our communities.”
