Plans to build a cinema complex in Kempsey have hit a speed bump, with a funding application being knocked back.
Kempsey Shire Council applied for the grant through the Federal Government’s National Stronger Regions Fund, but it was deemed unsuccessful.
It says the cinema would bring significant economic and social benefits for the region.
Council will now seek alternative funding options.
