Two men were lucky to avoid spending the night out in the elements after becoming stuck on a narrow ridge while bush walking near Nimbin.
The pair contacted emergency services yesterday afternoon after taking a wrong turn on a walking track at Mount Burrell.
Rescuers battled gusty winds to winch the men to safety.
While a little bruised and battered from the ordeal, the hikers walked away with a healthy appetite.
“When they came back here they probably had about five or six vegemite sandwiches each so yeah, a good meal for them.”
