In the women’s premier league, Broadmeadow claimed the minor premiership, after the Phoenix upset Merewether.
With new W-League Jets coaches Clayton Zane and Joey Peters scouting for talent, the Magic grabbed an early lead through Kaitlin Radstaak.
Stacy Day added another before half time, ensuring the title was heading to Broadmeadow.

Mitchell Hughes started as a tape editor in Newcastle in 1999. He became a reporter in 2004, working in Lismore and on the Gold Coast.
