Local organisations have received their share of more than $70,000, raised by some very brave swimmers.
The money was donated by sponsors and supporters of the 24th annual Byron Bay Winter Whales Classic; a 2.2 kilometre swim from Watego’s Beach to Main Beach.
Today members had the pleasure of presenting cheques to 18 local charities, clubs and organisations.
“The boys feel very satisfied. They’ve put a lot of effort in over a number of years and they feel satisfied to have raised that amount of money.”
