A 27-year-old Drake man has been granted conditional bail after police allegedly found $185,000 worth of cannabis plants in a sophisticated hydroponic setup in Leeville yesterday afternoon.
Police say Maurice Chapman had 85 cannabis plants growing in different stages of maturity, in a Mongogarie Road property that was used soley for drug cultivation.
“it was probably only a matter of weeks from being harvested and was a significant amount of cannabis that would have given this individual a significant amount of money”
Chapman has been charged with growing hydroponically enhanced cannabis for a commercial purpose.
