There were plenty of cuppas and cake at St Vincent’s hospital this morning for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
About 100 people turned up during the morning to help the Cancer Council meet it’s nationwide fundraising goal of $11-million.
“I think there was about 1.9 spent in the far north coast last year, a lot of it does go to research though”
It was also a chance to promote the region’s only Cancer Council Information Centre, which is run by volunteers.
“providing useful information about their cancer treatments, chemotherapy , information about diet, health, lifestyle, prevention”
There are plans to open a centre in the Tweed.
