PALMERS CHANNEL TO BE DREDGED IN TIME FOR PRAWN SEASON

The sand has been accumulating for 10 years, but next week dredging on the Palmers channel, west of Yamba, will finally commence.
The New South Wales Government will provide Clarence Valley Council with more than $124,000 so the works can be completed by the beginning of prawn trawling season.
News of the dredging has been welcomed by local fishermen who will finally be able to get in and out of the channel safely, without damaging their boats.
