NORTH COAST CRIME PLUMMETS

The latest crime statistics indicate good news for the North Coast.
Over the past two years, violent offences in the Richmond and Tweed areas have dropped 8.3% and non domestic assaults are down by almost 12.
But the most staggering drop in crime was to property.
Across the board, theft is significantly down and robbery with a weapon has plummeted by a massive 34.7%.
Richmond LAC Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Greg Moore, puts the good results down to targeted crime prevention programs.
“We’ve been working pretty consistently with the local community and other agencies in tackling some of the bigger crime issues about town.”
