TRANSGRID ON THE AGENDA AT LISMORE COUNCIL’S NEXT MEETING

A proposed $283 million Translink transmission line between Bonshaw and Lismore will be the main focus of next Tuesday’s council meeting.
Lismore city councillor Simon Clough intends to put forward a motion questioning the need for a coal fired electricity line in an area with a high sustainable energy uptake.
“This is old technology, so our community has shown very clearly that we don’t need it and yet, it’s being pushed upon us.”
Concerns raised at the meeting will be sent to the Transgrid enquiry and the state’s planning minister.
