TRANSPORT CHANGES TO BEEF UP MEAT INDUSTRY

After a tough year financially, the Northern Co-operative Meat Company has finally received some good news that will help it beef up its bank account.
The State Government today announced it will be moving to put in place a cheaper and more productive system for the road transport of cattle.
Currently in New South Wales a truck can only carry a maximum of 60 beasts a load, compared 70 on the same size vehicle in Queensland.
The changes will enable companies to transport more cattle per load and and improve freight efficiency.
At the end of the day that means that this business can stay more viable because their costs can come down and they can employ more people.
