  1. Thank you for bringing this very important story to our attention. People need to be aware of the plight of horses. We have horses with rugs on all summer, winter rugs, horses that never get any social stimulation, even though they are herd animals. Horses that never get to mate and stay being stallions. Horses that never get to be exercised, never get off the tether, some horses are tethered for life! We have owners that don’t get their feet done, and this causes them a lot of pain, as well as infections if they don’t get special vet attention. We have one owner in Rosebank, who has several horses, about 20 in fact. He does not know how to look after them. And has breached the cruelty acts several times. And Rscpa lets him get away with it.

We have one Rscpa inspector for the whole North NSW, which is outrageous. And they don’t even do their job properly.

Our animal welfare laws have not been changed in a hundred years or so. And they are not their to protect the animals, they are there to protect the owners and let them have rights to do what ever they want to animals.

  2. Thank you so much for broadcasting this story. It would be great to see a more in depth coverage also as I feel that the public need to be more educated on what is going on with so many horses in the Northern Coast area. I admire hugely this group of people who are doing all they can to help these beautiful creatures, thank you. I really do hope that your story helps their cause.

  3. The animal cruelty laws need to change as they rae letting animals down. Well done to these wondeful people who speak out and act on behalf of defenceless and voiceless animals
