NOROC FIGHTS FOR TRANSPORT PLAN

Improvements to public transport on the Northern Rivers have been put on the backburner until the New South Wales Government completes its own plan.
NOROC has been lobbying the state to develop a regional transport plan which would see rail, train and bus services connected.
“We are a little unique in terms of our interaction with South East Queensland, so what we are going to be asking is the state Government is that the $2 million study for the train service from Casino to Murwillumbah, If we could have those terms of reference expanded. ”
NOROC is expected to put forward its application in the next couple of days.
It will be another 12 months until the state plan is completed.
