Two people are dead, and a man seriously injured, following a head-on collison south of Casino this morning.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at Summerland Way, Leeville, shortly before six.
It’s believed the driver and passenger in a Toyota Hilux both died at the scene.
The male driver of the second car, a Nissan Navara, was taken to Lismore Base Hospital suffering suspected spinal injuries, and remains in a serious condition.
“We certainly haven’t ruled out the conditions, I believe it was quite foggy at the time and one vehicle may have been overtaking a truck, however that’s still very early stages of investigations.”
The crash saw Summerland Way closed in both directions.
