Lismore Councillor, David Yarnall is calling on Rous Water to prohibit Coal Seam Gas exploration and mining on its land.
Mr Yarnall wants the water authority to pressure the State Government to allow it to make comment on any CSG applications in the region.
“Council is satisfied that this decision was made based on a fair assessment of those criteria in accordance with Council policy.”
The issue will be discussed at Tuesday’s council meeting.
