A fire management exercise turned into a real life scenario at Casino’s new Rural Fire Service headquarters today.
Staff were refreshing their incident management skills, when they were called to blaze burning across 100 hectares near Cherry Tree State Forest west of Casino.
“Causing us a bit of concern, it has the potential to be a large fire and we’ve got some aircraft on in this morning to map it”
The Rural Fire Service says it’s a timely reminder for residents to prepare their properties for the warmer months.
