BYRON POOL LIVES ANOTHER DAY

Byron Bay’s Memorial Swimming pool will live another day, with council voting to enter into negotiations with the state government over land tenure issues.
The swimming facility and its adjoining restaurant, Fish Heads are situated on crown owned land, which the state government wants to split in two.
If divided, council would be responsible for the management of the pool but unable to offset its expenses with revenue from the restaurant.
“We have to maintain it we have to find a way we’ve got to go through our budget and try and find some savings.”
