A light plane, which went missing off the state’s north coast three months ago, has been found by the Australian Navy.
HMAS Gascoyne found three large pieces of the wreckage in waters off Byron Bay at around midnight.
The body of 46-year-old Lennox Head pilot Paul Whyte was not located.
It is not anticipated the wreckage will be salvaged, and there are no suspicious circumstances.
