Far North Coast beaches were closed today, due to dangerous surf conditions.
Those at Salt, Brunswick Heads, Shellys Beach and Yamba remained closed for the majority of the day.
Improved conditions meant lifesavers were able to reopen Byron Bay and Lennox Head at around midday.
Conditions are meant to improve tomorrow.
