NURSES BATTLE HEART DISEASE DURING WOMENS HEALTH WEEK

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death for Australian women, claiming 24 lives across the nation every day.
Keen to lower that figure, local health district nurses in Lismore spent today performing complimentary heart check-ups.
Part of Women’s Health Week activities, patients received free blood pressure and cholesterol tests.
They were also encouraged to join the state’s Get Healthy well-being program.
