RANGERS TRAIN TO FIGHT FIRE FROM ABOVE

National park rangers have also spent today updating their air safety skills.
After a lesson in theory they strapped into the big bird to practice winching techniques in preparation for what’s expected to be a bumper bush fire season.
“We’ve had several fires already this season so some are lightening strikes and some are lit on purpose by arson.”
This year the National Parks and Wildlife Service has trained 1200 of its employees in aerial safety.
