Lennox Head-based comany “GeoLink” have been awarded the contract to design Ballina’s new marine rescue search tower.
The design involves three sections – including an observation deck, training room and a restaurant.
While Ballina Shire Council has already set aside $1.75-million for the development, it’s hoping the State or federal government will step in to help out.
“Council saw the need to provide a facility because the other facility is falling over, however we don’t believe it’s our role, we don’t think we should be paying for it.”
