PRICE OF POLICE PRESENCE AT PROTESTS REVEALED

It’s been revealed the state government has spent around $81,000 maintaining police presence during coal seam gas protests on the Northern Rivers over the past six months.

The figure relates to operations at Glenugie and Doubtful Creek involving police, public order and riot squads, but does not include salary costs.

An estimated 159 officers worked more than 3000 hours during the operations.
