Rous Water says replacing ‘aging pipes’ is a major priority, after research proved the Northern Rivers was losing 15 per cent of its water supply through cracks and leaks.
“The issue of water loss is an issue that will come through the future water strategy, which we’re working on at the present time and hope to have completed by the end of this year.”
The company says they’re looking at ways to update the infrastructure, which was built in the 1940s.
