STUDENTS WARNED ABOUT ROAD SAFETY

Road safety campaigner Robert Wells has spent the week talking to high school students across Lismore.

He formed Southern Cross LADS – Learn About Driving Skills – after his son Bryce and three other teenagers were killed in a crash at Broken Head in 2006.

Mr Wells says it’s important young people understand the facts before they hit the road.

“If we can get them to realise they’re not infaluable and that they will probably have a crash in that first 12-months of driving.”

He hopes to introduce a driver safety program into the curriculum of local schools within the next 12 months.
