WATERBOMBERS ATTACK BYRON RD BLAZE

Water bombing continued over Lennox Head today, as firefighters carefully monitored the Byron Bay Road blaze.

Two helicopters dumped water from Lake Ainsworth onto smouldering bushland near the Ross Lane intersection.

While ground crews worked to strengthen containment lines and dampen hotspots, following Friday’s flare up.

The blaze has so far blackened more than 470 hectares.
