GLEN INNES TO UP CCTV IN CBD

Glen Innes Severn Council is stepping up its fight against crime, looking to install more than a dozen new CCTV cameras in the town’s CBD.
Council is thinking outside the box, wanting to use new surveillance technology along Grey Street.
“Council is certainly very keen to talk to police and try and work out the best ways of improving our CCTV coverage, particularly in the CBD but possibly even using mobile cameras as well.”
Crime rates across the region have risen in the past quarter, with break and enters up by more than 50 per cent.
