All the colours of the rainbow filled the streets of Lismore’s CBD today, with 197 Southern Cross graduates joining a marching band to celebrate the end of their studies.
Among them 15 doctoral candidates, including a few internationals – one even receiving the uni’s highest honour.
“We are celebrating the Zimbabwean who has won the Chancellor’s Medal the highest award we can award to a doctoral candidate.”
Numbers are up from last year and the uni’s confident around two-thirds of today’s graduate students will remain in the region.
