For Roger Fry risking his life for others is just another day in the office.
But today the Rescue Helicopter Chief received a national medal for his dedication to the community.
“It’s nice to actually get recognised for all the years service that I’ve carried out here in this organisation and this region so it’s a great honour.”
His colleagues and family watched on as he was presented with a small token of appreciation from Kevin Hogan.
Since taking up the job in 1998 Roger’s been a familiar face on the rescue frontline, and says he’s looking forward to continuing in the role for years to come.
