PETITION STARTED TO HELP PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS STOP PAY FREEZE

A Tweed-based petition has been launched in hopes public sector workers across the state get their 2.5% pay increase this year.
The Labor Party is aiming for 10,000 signatures.
“Our essential workers, teachers, nurses, and our police – these people are the heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic that have protected us so well.”
“We were really hurt by the suggestion that we weren’t entitled to what we had agreed on.”
The potential pay freeze is yet to be determined and is right now being discussed by the industrial commission.
