CHRISTMAS GIFTS DESTROYED IN TRUCK FIRE

A 43-year-old truck driver had a lucky escape this morning when his B Double, carrying mail and christmas presents, caught fire on the Pacific Highway at Yelgun.
The vehicle, contracted to Australia Post, was heading north towards Brisbane when the driver noticed heat and flames coming into the cabin.
The driver pulled over and attempted to extinguish the blaze but the fire quickly took hold, gutting the vehicle from the inside out.
“Completely destroyed the truck and it’s as I said it is contracted to Australia Post so a large amount of the cargo is christmas related unfortunately.”
It took fire fighters over 5 hours to extinguish the blaze.
No one was injured.
