A father and his two sons have had a lucky escape after their tinnie capsized in testing conditions at Brunswick Heads this morning.
The group was trying to navigate across the bar when a large wave swamped the boat, throwing them all overboard.
“we called in the lifesavers who responded very quickly we had our own boat crew on standby here in the river”
The group managed to scramble up the rocks to safety without any assistance, and escaped unharmed.
Marine Rescue says their lifejackets helped prevent a tragedy.
