With state member for Ballina Don Page retiring from politics next year, and Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner also stepping down the position of Minister for the North Coast has been reallocated to Roads Minister Duncan Gay.
But not everyone’s impressed with the move – with Minister Gay hailing from Redfern.
Shadow Minister for Health, Walter Secord (SEE-CORD), says it shows a vote of no-confidence in current National Party MPs based on the North Coast.
Mr Gay has vowed to visit the region more often.
