MYOCUM TIP SMELLS LIKE CASH FOR BYRON

The gas extraction and flaring project in Myocum, is earning big bucks for the Byron Council, earning more than $150,000 worth of carbon credits in just under two years.
The myocum landfill site was the first in New South Wales to be approved under the federal government’s carbon farming initiative.
The odour reduction initiative uses an extraction system to capture methane, then converts that gas to a more environmentally friendly carbon dioxide.
