With wet weather predicted for the next week the SES has sent out an early warning, for people in the Northern Rivers region to be flood safe.
In the last 24 hours some areas have already had up to 200 millimetres of rainfall and more is expected.
The SES is warning flash flooding is likely and to be extra careful on the roads.
People are being reminded to never walk, ride or drive through flood water and anyone needing assistance should call the SES on 132 500.
