WILD WEATHER HITS FAR NORTH COAST

A low pressure system over south east Queensland is producing some wild weather on the Far North Coast, with widespread rain and strong southerly winds expected to increase overnight.
Damaging gusts of up to 90-kilometres per hour are predicted, as well as minor flooding in Lismore.
“People should therefore be mindful of loose possessions around their home and sure those loose items. As the ground is currently quite damp as well, with the increase in winds some trees may come down and people should be mindful of that.”
Police have also issued a warning to motorists.
“Obviously there has been a bit of rain around. Police do advise that people take care when driving on the roads at this time.”
Conditions are expected to ease tomorrow as the system moves away.
