TEENS CHARGED AFTER BAKERY HOLD-UP NEAR TWEED HEADS

A pair of teenage boys have been charged after an alleged break-in and armed hold-up near Tweed Heads.
Around 11:30pm on Saturday, workers at a bakery on Overall Drive at Pottsville were confronted by two males, who entered through the rear of the premises.
Staff were threatened with a knife, and handed over cash. The bandits then fled.
Police attended and following patrols of the area, stopped two boys – aged 17 and 16 – nearby.
Two knives and cannabis were allegedly found during a search.
The teenagers were charged with a number of offences, including aggravated break and enter, commiting a serious indictable offence, and custody of a knife in a public place.
Both are due to appear in court on April 1.
