Meanwhile a 38 year old man conquered Mount Warning last night but after reaching the summit, he struck trouble.
The hiker couldn’t get himself back down and had to be airlifted to safety by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
Following the rescue, paramedics recommended the man try a less strenuous climb next time round and pleaded with hikers to be better prepared.
The rescue mission cost thousands of dollars and involved at least 20 people.
