POLICE BELIEVE MURWILLUMBAH RAILWAY FIRE DELIBERATELY LIT

Police are investigating a suspicious fire on railway tracks on the state’s North Coast.
Around 2:15am yesterday, emergency services responded to reports of a fire on railway tracks along Tweed Valley Way in Murwillumbah. Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze shortly after.
Homes in the area were evacuated, but no one was reported injured.
Initial inquiries suggest the fire may have been deliberately lit.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
